Claire Burch received her Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma in Geography and Environmental Sustainability, where her research focuses on the environmental permitting of utility-scale wind and solar development. She looks at the relationship between stakeholders within this process in an effort to understand how to facilitate increased collaboration and communication within the planning of projects. Claire is also Scientist within the Utility Environmental Sciences team at Olsson. In her role, Claire works with clients on the planning and permitting of utility-scale wind and solar projects across the Great Plains region, working on projects from initial site due diligence through construction compliance and monitoring. She is actively engaged in outreach and education opportunities in the renewable energy sector, including her role as President of the Oklahoma Renewable Energy Council and managing the Renewable Energy Collaborative for Playa Lakes Joint Venture.
